Devenir, meaning “to become” or “becoming” across multiple languages, is the process through which someone or something comes into being. It unfolds moment to moment, here and now. 

Carolina Fontoura Alzaga creates your Devenir lighting sculpture, or lamp, at Facaro art studio, according to your personal preferences — from the color of the glass and the components to the material of the base and the engraved message of your choosing. The engraving can be a symbol, word, or phrase that nourishes you, expresses love for another, or honors the memory of someone significant — you determine its meaning. 

Your lamp is a summoning of and commitment to your desire, it acts as a conduit for your transformative energy. The daily habit of turning on a light becomes an intentional, illuminating r i tual as you focus your attention on your chosen message. Every time you activate your Devenir, i t i s a rededication to your dreams and to the actions you must take to realize them, for intention without action is inert. This is a practice for the beautifully imperfect, already whole humans we all are.

Focus on your mind’s eye and your physical sensations. Imagine who you want to be, what you want to create, or someone you want to honor, as if you, it, or they were present in this moment.
